MotoArt Drupal Website Design 2009
MotoArt needed a facelift, their old website just wasn't cutting it anymore. The MotoArt Website Design began with a simple concept: "Let's bring back MotoArt's sleek and sexy professional style."
We chose the Drupal Content Management System for multiple reasons:
- Easy updates
- Future Website Redesigns become more cost effective
- The Drupal CMS was perfect for the new SEO Campaign we were launching for them
The Drupal CMS worked for us because it had everything we needed already prebuilt with Drupal Community Contributed Modules. Basically, other individuals of the Drupal Open Source community had already done most of the work in creating the functionality that we needed. Our job with the Drupal Website Development was simply to lay the framework out for the site using the prebuilt functionality.

The products were shown in a manner that highlights the detail paid to each individual piece. From Airplane Desks to Wall Sconces, the products were the largest focus of the project. Organizing them so that they would have the potential to rank for various long tail keywords became inherent in both the planning and produciton stages.

The Aviation History section provided a strong vertical market with which traffic, and links, could be driven to the MotoArt site. Often times, patrons of MotoArt are individuals who have flown the plane that was used to build the piece they are purchasing. From War Veterans of WWII to Vitenam, many turn up after having heard about MotoArt's unique furniture.

As with any company, it was also important to fill in all of the gaps in content between what the MotoArt site used to be, and what it is today. That included building out more history of the MotoArt company. MotoArt's patrons deserve to know everything there is about MotoArt before they make a purchase, and we made sure that learning about MotoArt didn't require someone to leave the site.

There is a wide range of culture behind MotoArt Studios, from the Clients that MotoArt serves, to the Newsletters and Announcements that go out every month — the Drupal Content Management System cut production time in half for future site updates.

MotoArt's Clients are a great selling point for most new customers. They take one look at the Client List and find out that dozens of HUGE companies love Motoart. The Clients sections was built to capitalize on the thought process of the competitive, "Well if Boeing has it, we are getting it too!"

MotoArt News has it's ups and downs. When new products come out, they are usually met with a wide range of media coverage from blogs to magazines. When MotoArt attends an event, it becomes a focus piece on MotoArt's site. Either way the News section helps keep the Search Engine Meta Crawlers coming back for fresh content, and we like that.

One of the most important elements of the MotoArt site was the Contact / Prices Inquiry Form. Quite simply, ensuring that the form was visible on every page was a big Usability point, and then when the User reached the Prices Inquiry form, it was important that they could fill out the form as easily as possible.
At DoD Studios, we also strove to simplify the CRM process and used one of Drupal's many worthwhile modules, Webform, to help generate the forms and track the results/submissions.
