Hot to Trot 2010: Pin-Up's, Planes, and a Party, Oh My!
Anyone who knows this pack of crazy dogs knows we like to party. When we aren’t basking in the glow of our monitors, frantically typing out copy, or slinging paint on canvas, we like to have a little fun. What some of you may not know is that a few of us have a fancy for that certain retro flair. You know, the elegant curves of a ‘40’s Packard, the polished steel of a P-38 Lightning, and slight tease of a pin-up girl.
Each of those elements of retro flair is not only a great example of history, but in their own way, are pieces of art! How could they get any better? Oh! I know, why not combine all three with a good cause and call it a party?
This past weekend, we had the honor of being able to participate in just that type of party and as usual, we added that Dogs of Design touch to the mix. Aim High Events held their Hot to Trot charity event on Saturday night in order to raise funds for the Murray Grey Foundation, a charity that supports active and veteran military families. With MotoArt playing host and Allied Fighters providing vintage WWII Aircraft as a backdrop, you couldn’t ask for a better venue! Add in some beautiful girls from Warbird Pinup Girls, great music, tasty food, and you have a rockin’ party. When asked if we’d be a sponsor for the event, we jumped at the chance to participate in a great event taking place in our own backyard.
When it comes to artistic talent & design, Max is your man. He set out to design a logo that Hot to Trot could show off to the world. With help from a very lovely model and a vintage RC plane, Max created the logo you see here and Dogs of Designs gladly donated the piece to Aim High Events to use for Hot to Trot. That same creative genius that he pours into every piece he works on easily found its way into this logo. Aim High Events could not have been happier with how it turned out. We love it too, but hey, we may be a little biased.
Everyone likes to help out a good cause, but it means a little more when the work you create can draw in more people to help that cause. Plus really, who doesn’t like vintage aircraft and pin-up girls? You know you do…
